Who are we?
The Tennessee Council of Teachers of English is an affiliate of the National Council of Teachers of English. Our state organization includes several hundred English teachers.
Our mission is to:
· support the teaching of reading, writing, and literacy across the state.
· provide professional development opportunities for teachers through publications, an annual convention, and events and programs throughout the year.
· honor and reward educators for the work in our field and for their dedication to the profession.
· provide a professional network for educators to sustain their personal and professional growth.
· serve as advocates for students and teachers.
